Bromo In Our Mind

Mt. Bromo, East Java, Indonesia

Mt. Bromo is an active volcano in East Java, located nearby the mountain village of Cemoro Lawang. It just recently erupted in January of this year. It’s crazy to think that not long ago Jack and I made the climb and looked into the mouth of the smoking caldera.

Both Jack and I got up at 3 am (a very uncivilized hour to be up I’m telling you), braved the cold, and made the jeep drive to the viewpoint. And after elbowing aside helpless old people and little children to grab the primo location, we finally managed to take this shot.

All of this before our morning coffee.

So, here’s Bromo at sunrise. From us personally – to you.

Hope you enjoy :)

Have a great weekend!

That is stunning beyond words, quiet breathting. To have been there must have been the experience of a lifetime. Is it HDR?

That is incredible, it looks like a real moonscape. I visited a few years ago, but unfortunately the weather was bad the day I went. It’s great to see this view!
